If you have gorgeous brown hair, why not just keep it?

If you're hoping to get it like the ones in the pictures, keep in mind that it'll only look like that right when you come back from the hairdresser's. Those are clearly professionally styled.

If you can style it like that, it might stay for a bit longer, but the colour will start fading pretty fast and will take lots of dye, time, money, etc to keep it like that. Unnatural colours fade pretty fast, no matter what brand you use. Even if they say they'll stay for a long time, they will fade and not look nearly as good as when you first did it.

I really love that kind of hairstyle, except it just isn't realistic for every day.

My hair right now is just so blah. It grew out from a bob and is now sitting just at my shoulders. I need something new!!!

I have a round face with chubby cheeks and I want something shorter so I have to actually do something with it instead of throwing it in a pony tail, which is a big part of the problem.

When I wore my hair that way couple of years ago I used scissors and a razor, I now only use thinning shears because its less damaging. First use the regular scissors to cut your hair to the desired lengh, a second mirror helps get it straight. Next use a razor or thinning shears and continue removing more and more hair until its at your desired fullness. Its almost foolproof because the hair blends so well.
