I think a squarish face would be cuter with an athletic look - such as a cute pony tail or a long layered cut.
Another cute look is just pulling the front hair (that would be used as bangs) back and using bobby pins to secure it tightly to the top of the head.

i think hair cut in layers to frame the face or a bob styled to just an inch over the chin (must be one length) bangs also look good.
